Meet Sidney!
Our member of the week this week is Sidney the Snowman. We don’t usually give shout-outs to snowmen but as Christmas is fast approaching and with it being the season of goodwill and all that, it’s only fair.
So what’s Sid like and what’s he looking for? He’s a couple of days old (32 in snowmen years) and is looking for a snow woman of similar age. He’s already dated penguins, reindeer and even tried his luck with a fairy once – unfortunately that fizzled out. It’s not that he doesn’t like other Christmas folk… they just can’t seem to hack the cold. He’s back for another season and looking for someone to have a few laughs and mainly, chill out with.
Will Sid find who he’s looking for on Plenty More Fish? Find out on your TV from the 20th December – 31st December!
Sidney (or Sid, as we like to call him) will be appearing on various Sky Channels from the 20th – 31st December. We will also be posting the ad on our blog and YouTube so keep an eye out for that!
Merry Christmas from Plenty More Fish!
Will Sidney the snowman find his true love? Find out in our Christmas ad!
5 Romantic Winter Dates
When dating, bars and cafés can be great venues but if you fancy something a little bit different, why not take advantage of the wintry season (if you can beat em’, join em’!) and really impress your date. So grab your coat…and your mittens and check out our favourite 5 romantic winter dates.
1. Outdoor Ice Rink
Oh *OOPS* you fell over. It doesn’t matter if you can’t ice skate, in fact it’s probably better. If they’re nice, your date will help you up. Excuse the pun but it’s a great way to break the ice between you both!
2. Christmas Market
Does your nearest town or city have a Christmas market? Put on your warm winter coat, browse the stalls and get into the Christmas spirit. This can make for a fun and cheap(ish) date. This of course depends on whether you can drag yourself away from the chocolate fountain and how many mulled wines you guzzle! Yup, I’m talking from experience!
3. Comedy night
Comedy nights are great in any season but if you fancy getting out of the cold we would recommend heading down to your local comedy club. After all, laughter is the best medicine.
4. Country pub
Preferably one with good hearty pub grub. Even better if you can sit next to an open fire. This will make for a very cosy date indeed.
5. Catch an Afternoon Movie
Get down to your local independent cinema and choose from a wide range of films from old classics to quirky feel good films. These places have a great atmosphere with a small cosy feel to them. Perfect.
Donald McGill’s slightly ‘saucy’ Christmas cards
Have you started handing out the Christmas cards yet? No me either. Highly unorganised I’m afraid! :S
A museum has just uncovered a collection of Christmas cards by saucy postcard artist Donald McGill and the PlentyMoreFish team find them pretty quirky. You may have heard of McGill through his comic seaside cards, but now it has been discovered he also produced 250 different Christmas designs over six decades. He published saucy festive scenes from 1904 onwards, featuring his trademark plump wives, big-breasted women, balding bachelors and mischievous maids.
Anyway take a look at these, you could may even get some ideas for Christmas cards or “kiss-miss” cards… 😉
